Hello! My name is Amra!
Welcome to The Rested Nurse
I'm so glad you're here.
I began my journey as an Intensive Care nurse in August 2024, and like so many new nurses, I started on night shift. The adjustment was overwhelming — my body, my mind, and even my sense of routine felt completely upside down. Learning to sleep during the day quickly became one of my biggest challenges.
About six months in, my mom gifted me a silk sleep mask — and it genuinely changed everything. For the first time, I could create real darkness, fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. Such a small thing made such a big difference. I finally felt what true rest could do for my health, my mood, and my ability to show up for my patients.
The Rested Nurse was born from that moment.
This space was created for anyone whose work, schedule, or responsibilities have pushed self-care to the background — nurses, caregivers, shift workers, and anyone simply running on too little sleep. Because whether it's a few quiet minutes to journal, step outside, pray, or just breathe, those small choices can shift the entire trajectory of your day.
Nursing taught me to protect my rest, honor my health, and show up for myself the way I show up for others. I hope the tools and resources here help you do the same.
Thank you for being here. You deserve rest.
